i-Size uses a new way to test infant and child car seats for collisions, including a new test for side impacts. The i-Size safety tests are conducted with advanced Q dummies, which have more sensors than the dummies used for the R44 test. Research has shown that a rear-facing car seat provides up to 75% more protection if your young child is involved in a car crash.
The recommended minimum age for traveling in the rear-facing position is up to and including 15 months. The Tourino car seat can even be used rear-facing up to a length of 105 cm, which is roughly equivalent to four years of age.
